Ms Daisy Chan is the founder and President of Glorious Holdings Limited, which engages in the manufacture and sale of knitwear.

 

Ms Chan is a self-made industrialist. In 1983, she set up Chung Lee Fat Cotton Yarn Company Limited. To achieve vertical integration and better control in the production process, she acquired a knitting and dyeing factory in Chaozhou in 1997. In 2000, she acquired another garment factory in Dongguan and expanded the plant in 2002 which allowed economies of scale and synergy to be maximized.

Ms Daisy Chan is the founder and President of Glorious Holdings Limited, which engages in the manufacture and sale of knitwear.

 

Ms Chan is a self-made industrialist. In 1983, she set up Chung Lee Fat Cotton Yarn Company Limited. To achieve vertical integration and better control in the production process, she acquired a knitting and dyeing factory in Chaozhou in 1997. In 2000, she acquired another garment factory in Dongguan and expanded the plant in 2002 which allowed economies of scale and synergy to be maximized.

 

Under her leadership, Glorious emerged from a small-scale cotton yarn company into a garment corporation that engages in cotton trading, dyeing, and manufacturing of garment, proving quality “one-stop” solution.

 

At present, the Group has a total of 5 subsidiaries and 2 advanced production plants in Dongguan and employs nearly 4000 staff. Major markets are Mainland China, Hong Kong, Europe, Australia, the US, Japan, Korea and the Middle East, etc. Customers include renowned European fashion brands, casual wear and sportswear brands.

 

To prepare for future expansion, Ms Chan plans to build a garment manufacturing park in Dongguan, providing yet better and comprehensive one-stop shop solution services.

 

Ms Chan is actively involved in community activities. She was a member of the International Buddhist and a Director of Yan Chai Hospital and Yan OI tong. She now serves as an Advisor of Yan Chai Hospital, an Executive Director of The Hong Kong General Chamber of Textile Ltd and a member of the Chaoan Committee of the Chinese Political Consultative Conference.

Ms Chiang graduated in Wellesley College in US with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1988. Upon graduation, she joined Chen Hsong Machinery Co. Ltd. as a sales executive. She spent most of her first 5 years in Production Department where she gained considerable experience in procurement, planning and design, production, testing, quality control and logistical planning. In order to further enhance its efficiency, the company is now pursing the “Six Sigma” standard to strengthen its operational performance.

She became a director for Namtai Electronics (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. (“NTSZ”), a subsidiary and major operating arm of NTEEP, in 1998, where she was instrumental in securing as customers some of the world’s leading brand owners of consumer electronics and communications products including Sony Ericsson, Sony Computer Entertainment, OmniVision and Appeal Telecom. She became the Managing Director of the Group in 2001 and subsequently its Chairman in 2003.

 

Ms Wong pioneered the diversification of the Group’s business to include the production of high growth and large volume products such as optical devices, home entertainment devices, mobile phone accessories and educational products. NTSZ’s production area is expected to increase by around 150% upon the completion of its new factory by the second quarter of 2005.
